Try on other times. It's sometimes faster (usually at the night / early morning in Germany), sometimes slower.
I also don't know any site which could be better than Abandonia. All I saw so far (and I saw many) have either much less games than our site or too slow in download. B)

In HOTU defence I have found games there that are nowhere else. Their download speeds are poor yes but the most irritating thing about them is that I have not had a firewall that they allowed me to download through. Very irritating.

I also liked Lost treasures....but they also feature games that surely are NOT abandonware, anyway they are still there.....strange.
