Writings goes in the same place as the other arts. No need to create a a new section for it.

Well, writing can't be described as music, and the description of the "Art" forum says that it's a place to post your art portfolio. Although writing is an art, one does not keep a writing portfolio.

I don't think the misconception is astounding, but if you really think it could be misunderstood I guess an Admin could rename that description...

Actually you do. A free lance writer keeps a portfolio to show a potential employer what he or she can do.

Even if they did, people on message boards don't often read other people's writing projects.

There are plenty of forum that have a writing section. The art section is not a frequently visisted place anyhow. It is not there for everyone just the people who want to make use of it.

I know that, but it would make more sense to have a writing board where people could also ask for writing advice and proofreading than it would to have a place for people to submit their work for public approval.

You can do what you want with your writing in the art section. If you want help then ask for it. If you just want to place it online so people can enjoy what you have writen then that is fine as well.
