:help: So the problem is: how can I emulate 16 bit Win environment under Windows XP? And if anyone knows why it doesn't run even under Win'98? Thanks in forward for any help. :bye:

Win16-bit can be emulated without any problems except that some emulation software requires licensing and that you should have Win3.1 Installation discs.

I saw images of Win3.11 running on DOSBox, but I never tried it.

I did install it on Virtual PC (Now Microsoft's software) together with DOS6.22. It worked fine, but not very playable with games at the time. (My PC at the time was PII 366MHz)

There is more virtual software, but only one that is free (and that is hardest to get working IMHO) is Bosh.

Win 3.11 is the Windows XP of fifteen years... good luck 'just' downloading it.
Virtual PC is registered software made by Microsoft (or was that Virtual Machine?). Anyway, it's probably expensive.
Never heard of Bosh.

Windows 3.11 is practically the same as Windows 3.1, so try this one.


No sorry, don't try it, it's rubbish (I think)
