When I was playing it about the third time adlib sound turned on... not sure what I did but it's in there somewhere and much better. I'll poke around and see if i can figure out what changed.

If you liked this game you should try Willow that came out on the nintendo back around `92. You can find this using JNES under Willow.nes if interested.

I know this doesn't help anyone using Dosbox, but without changing any settings, I'm hearing great background music with Win98 and, therefore, no Dosbox.

As a historical note, this game originated on the Apple IIGS platform in 1990. This is one of the few games to start out as a IIGS-specific title that was ported to mjaor platforms (i.e. Amiga, Atari ST, PC, Genesis).

The other title, also by Will Harvey and Sandcastle productions, was Zany Golf.

If you haven't seen it, do check out the original for the Apple IIGS. The music alone will blow you away, it still impresses me to this day, in the year 2005! The graphics, animation and (especially) music completely blow away all other ports.

FYI: The 16-bit Apple IIGS had a built-in 32-voice Ensoniq wavetable synthesizer. The Immortal and Zany Golf really exploited it to its fullest!

Have a look at it in the KEGS32 emulator, on one of the web-based emulators (virtualapple.com comes to mind).
