The lack of a savegame feature (during the mission) really put me off... especially since the game logic is so "warped" (wacky weapons & items).

Question Mdkfont.fti

Yup. If I want to use XP, which exe should I open? Every thing I've done so far says "Error opening MISC\MDKFONT.FTI - check manual" but abandonia doesn't have the manual. It also says something about a "protected mode run-time".

I also tried it in DOSbox, but still, same error.

Have a clue to what that could mean??

Oh wow ok, nm! ALL I had to do was move the MDK file directly to C and make it C:\MDK\(folders & files). Such a small thing like C:\MDK\MDK\(folders & files) messed it up. I forget how sensitive some old programs are. I just have to figure out whats up with the sound now.

Read this:
Why can't I download game X? What does "ESA Protected" / "NO GO!" / "NO 90!" mean?

Well crap. I stumbled this and was totally stoked to see this game on here. I got all excited as awesome memories of this game came rushing back only to be snatched away.

Oh well. I'm still glad I found this site. :-)

As it happens, MDK can be bought at http://www.gog.com - legally and dirt-cheap at that.

Default MDK vs MDK2

Actually MDK2, is a style of game slightly different. MDK (first one) is a very good game where actions is omniprent, with some interesting moment of puzzle. But it's a real action game. MDK2 is more equilibrated between action and adventure/puzzle game. Notably because an important part of the game played with the scientist.
Any way, both game have plenty original ideas and many moments of great pleasure.

Its actually a solid (but not perfect) sequel, you can enjoy the action of MDK minus the bugs...
