I have an old shareware version of a DOS game called CONQUEST version 1.7 by David Burns. Despite all my searching for this David Burns I have not been able to find him or any full versions of his game. If anyone can help me I would be very appreciative. If there is a better place to post such a request I would also like to know that too.

It is just a simple little DOS game that I like to play occasionally. It’s a strategy game that has continents that are evenly divided in to smaller areas sort of like states. 2 to 8 players try to out luck and over power their opposition by massing armies represented by a number and attacking the next adjoining area. The goal is to wipe out all opposition.

No, but thanks for the tip. I can't believe there are so many games about conquest out there. The one I am looking for is by David Burns who was in the Military stationed in Bedford MA, until at least 1982. After that I have no idea of where he went. His game was distributed as shareware which is how I came across it.

conquest v1.8 by David Burns sadly I had to give a username and password when I clicked on it to download I'll continue searching

I don't think this is it, but it sounds like the same thing Conquest Shareware perhaps this? conquest for windows

http://www.legypt.net/general/index/Night_...%20-%20svga.htm However, as stroggy says, you need somekind of username and password. Try to check out the price. Maybe it's worth it. You could also download some kind of RISK game, I think conquest and RISK are very familiar. However, I have never heard of Conquest before, so I don't know for sure.  |
