I'll go with other. A mix of Adventure, Action, and RPG if possible.

Technically all that leaves you is an RPG...

Mine would be Other, but only because I play far too many games to care which genre they are.

The result was obvious, and I knew it even before I voted - Adventure

In that case, let me change it into a mix of Adventure and Action only. RPG is fine, but I am still much of a newbie in this genre. So far I have only played a few RPG, and they are all lite RPG (with emphasize on "lite"). I don't want too many statistics. I am terrible with numbers

Well I chose Action, I'm the first, only because of the games that were listed there. The only action games I care for are FPS and since Doom and Half-Life were listed there I assumed it involved FPS and since I'd rather play an FPS game over an adventure I chose it.

Adventure without a doubt.

Almost all of the most memorable characters, stories and humour, come from adventure games.

Aah - to only feel again what I felt after completing the likes of Broken Sword, Grim Fandango, Zork Grand Inquisitor, The Longest Journey and Gabriel Knight. When I completed these games, it felt like someone had just died for me - I was empty inside.

No other games touch me like adventures.

I wanted to cry after completing The Longest Journey - I couldn't believe it was the end.

Adventures are my escape from life's misery.

Oh where are the adventures now ....

Nope, only one I'm having second thougths about "other" as well as some people might misinterpret it. By "other" I meant some other genre that I had missed, not some cross genre... but it's to late now, I can't change it.

Hmmm. My favorite genre is by far the eastern-style RPG. I can't stand western-style PC RPGs, but I really love my japanese-style console RPGs (Seiken Densetsu games, Final Fantasy games, Xenogears, etc). That probably comes from my being primarily a console gamer for all my life. The only PC games that I play are adventures, which I also love.

There's only one other genre that could be considered one of my favorites, and only because it contains one of my favorite games. That genre would be the questionably named "action/adventure". They do seem somewhat like adventure games, in the exploration and depth of story, but they have a very different feel to them. Such games would be those like Beyond Good and Evil, Primal, and Ico.
