Default kittybrod - Shareware Versions: Wolfenstein 3d and Doom 1

I don't know if anyone else has offered or if Abandonia will accept these, but recently I found the shareware versions of Wolfenstein and Doom 1. They are the first missions only for both games.

If the site will host the archives (neither are very big) I can pm them to somoene to upload or post.

The shareware versions were on a game set I had purchased a while ago called 5001 games, most of those games are shareware and they had a fairly large dos collection.

Hey there kittybrod

Thanks for your offer. I don't think AB deals with shareware though.

I didn't think so either, but I noticed that there were reviews up for both of the games (or at least Doom 2) and since it made ME want to play the games, I thought I would see if abandonia wanted to have the zip files when Ifound them.

Yes that's our current policy.

I myself would change it, for games like Id's whose shareware version was a whole episode, as opposed to a crippled demo or trial. Id actually sold each episode separately as well as bundled, optionally. Nowadays we have games that get expansions with new episodes or campaigns, but don't consider the first one a demo--simply because they charge for it.

Okay, thanks for the replies, I didn't know if abandonia would deal with shareware. I just thought I would ask in case they did, I had forgotten I had the shareware versions of the games (didn't even know there was one) until I took a chance and looked at a pack of games i had.

I normally dont' like shareware because it is usually crippled, but there are some games that are fun even as shareware.

Again thanks for the replies
