Some things to try...
Here's some commands I found that had humorous responses:
* "look at self" * "hand me to me" * "kick me", "kick self", "kick" [enter] "self" (they all have slightly different responses) * "kiss" [any object] (me, tree, ground, etc) * "stab self" (when you're not carrying the sword; also works with some other objects) * "damn" * "ask me"/"talk to self" * "kill"/"stab" [any object] (case, air, tree, hands, etc) * "eat me"/"eat self" * "eat" [any unedible object] (hands, air, etc) * "go down chimney" (in the white house) * "scream"/"yell" I've only just started, but here's what I've got so far  Gotta love Zork! |

Zork I goes 3D - NWN2 Module
There is a bloke that has put a lot of work into turn Zork I into a Neverwinter Nights 2 Module.
It actually looks really good and I'm looking forward to the release ... assuming I can ever get NWN2 running under Linux again ... http://nwn2-zork.blogspot.com/ |

An amusement for IF addicts like yours truly is to enter XYZZY or FROBOZZ into every single game, just to note the response. It is nothing short of stunning to observe how many authors still acknowledge this venerable work.
When you see hundreds of different people reference to a decades-old computer game, ladies and gentlemen, then you will know it is a classic. Amazingly, there is now an online RPG based on the Zork series. I've tried it myself and highly recommend it. http://legendsofzork.com/ |

If you want to try this game out, do yourself a favor and don't use a walkthrough (of for any text adventure game). You'll be cheating yourself out of satisfaction, which is a big part of this game. Patient people only.
Lots of other Interactive Fiction (IF) on the net, free stuff written by fans of the genre and interpreters to play on various OS. Take a look. |

I'm stuck! Even with the walkthrough I can't get the trap door back open from down in the cellar. Any Ideas on how to get it back open or do I have to stick something in it?
