Default 1st Person Yellow Brick Road

I'm looking for a game I played as a kid in the early '90s.
  • I'm thinking it was a children's game but not positive.
  • I would have played it in DOS or perhaps Windows 95.
  • Graphics were at least VGA quality, definitely in color.
  • It was first person view, and I think there was some type of interface with an inventory.
  • I remember sound effects, but no voice. Silly sounds? Squelches and pops and stuff?
  • I remember what seems like a yellow brick road, but I've Googled Wizard of Oz games to no avail. It's possible it wasn't actually Wizard of Oz related, as I don't remember any witches, munchkins, or other related characters.
  • I think the color scheme was slightly dark, though there were a lot of different colors.
  • Candy canes?
  • Cattails and a pond?

I know it's not a lot of info but trying to remember this game is driving me crazy!

Maybe any of newer Zorks? Return to Zork, Grand Inquisitor?

No. I spent a lot of time today looking at different games and the most similar one I found was the Castle of Dr. Brain. I'm beginning to think I dreamed it!

The main scene I'm picturing is outside, with the road, and some body of water, with cattails.

Did you check similar games such as the island of Dr Brain?

I did. That's not it, either.

Still looking.

Found lots of other games I used to play as a kid that are not the one I'm thinking of, but are from the same time period:
Quest for Glory
King's Quest
Leisure Suit Larry
Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail
Mixed Up Mother Goose
Mixed Up Fairy Tales
Reader Rabbit: Ready for Letters
Broderbund's Living Books series

I think there may have been big candy canes, or candy cane like objects?

Hmm, I had to consult Moby for the _actual_ Oz games. It says that Yellow Brick Road is from the needed period and loosely similar to your description. Check this playthru please?

(If it is it, then it keep offered in "similar threads" just in this very one, and uploaded in ISO section. Irony.
