I took couple online classes, and I dislike them. How about you guys? Do you like them, and do they seems harder or easier to you? (If they are possible in your country)

I've avoided taking online classes. I really do not like the lack of having a professor to easily go to and I feel you also miss the social experience, as I find you meet a lot of friends you will possibly keep in contact for the rest of your life through classes.

My university offers most of classes online. You pay regular tuition, order your books, and when class starts, instead of going in the school you have to log on web portal (In my case www.blackboard.com) and use it for communication, lessons, homework, etc.

There is a teacher appointed for each class and you taking testes/exams also online (which means they are harder, as all of them are open books)

I wonder if this is available in other countries too.

Oh, blackboard, I don't even want to talk about that system. It'll turn into a 5 page rant.

We are using blackboard for some regular classes, so we can upload homework, test and other stuff. For some stuff it works, but most of stuff is not that functional as it should be.

I don't like the idea about the online schools, as I could imagine that they'll keep people away from learning just with the availability on internet in front of you and most people lack self-discipline to really learn on internet and not surf on it.
But usual schools also are in need of a great reform already, and that in almost every country in the world. Thus said, I voted for "I don't like them" in lack of a better option.

I really don't like that concept, it seems like it's the easy way out to me. Instead of puting a lot of effort into going to school and learning, you just stay home and do exactly what you're told to do. No human interaction at all, just reading a blank screen so you don't even know if you're learning the material correctly at all. Argh, such an awful concept. Seems more like a get-rich-quick scheme to me.
