This was one beautiful arcade game, and I must confess I lost many quarters on it. At the same time it was very frustrating to play, the DOS version is similarly frustrating, but still beautiful. Thanks for posting this.

Exclamation Can't install

This is not working for me in the slightest, have tried all sorts of DOSBOX configurations to no avail.. How do we run the game? I've got it to start by selecting VGA and soundblast, I'll see the title screen, then an animation of bricks falling and our hero running out to the right happens (which we seemingly have no control over, then we are taken back to the title screen. All in repeat.

I've tried typing y to the install prompt but that just either produces a useless ESCAPE.EXE file or says I need to insert installation disk 2.. What should I be doing?

Please fix the title of this game - remove "II" as this is NOT the second part, just re-release for PC (initial release was without subtitle). Real sequel is titled: Time Warp.

To quote the same site:

Due to a lack of disk and memory space in the systems of the day, the port of the arcade game, Dragon's Lair was split into two parts. The first part covered the half of the game dealing with entering Singe's Castle and saving the Princess. This second part, named Dragon's Lair II: Escape from Singe's Castle completes the game, continuing the adventure of Dirk the Daring after slaying Singe the Dragon.
I had trouble choosing the name, so I went with that

No problem, C64 release is indeed named like that. But both covers & title screen for PC re-release show otherwise, and there is a legitimate "part deux" after all, so these facts should end all discussion.

I found this game very frustrating at the time because I did not know the controls of the game. You would have to guess the controls and one misstep and your character would die.

With the frustration, you stop playing the game and the game is forgotten!
