I loved Sierra on line back in the days and brought almost every game they put out and still have them in my collection. I brought this game and never played it, just threw it on the shelf.

Definitely one of my top favorite adventure games. I like the combination of action and adventure. There was something awesome about being able to draw your sword pretty much whenever your want and having the freedom to cut people down, even if it's not the best thing to do. It was one of the first adventure games that felt epic since it took your from Britain to the Middle East. And I liked the little details like bodies staying on screen once you leave and flies gathering on them. The thing I probably liked the most were the riddles and trivia questions. I think the manual was supposed to help make them easier, but I didn't have one, so I figured them out on my own, and I think it made the game a lot more fun for me.

I started playing this game a while ago but I had a hard time figuring where exactly I was supposed to go after I leave the castle, is it just random guessing or is there hints about where to go in game? Am I going to have to resort to a walkthrough to understand what to do in this game?

I'm not sure. I didn't have a manual when I first played, so I wandered around like you. I think it's what you're supposed to do since there's really only one place you can progress through. At the moment. Now that I think about it, if you talk to characters about it, they might direct you to where you're supposed to go. In any case, your first stop is Glastonbury Tor. There are lots of difficult riddles and puzzles that you might need the manual for, particularly the flower part and the god-matching part. I did them all without the manual though and thought it actually made the game funner since I like riddles.

Conquest of the Longbow is a lot better than Conquests of Camelot. Camelot has way to many tricky puzzles and manual protection checks.

I like Camelot better. I thougth the copy protection was better integrated into the game and it was still possible to answer the riddles without the manual, which I liked.

The game is pre installed to run in dosbox, means:
You don't need to install it.
Delete what you've done and start over from scratch, simply unzip ALL files in
a \camelot\ folder and run the game with camelot in dosbox.

Capiche?

I remember playing this game more than 15 years ago, and all i can remember is getting stuck in some shrine like room with a riddle. I vaguely remember that it might have been one of those warez protection systems where you needed the manual to solve it or something like that.

Do you travel to egypt or something like that at some point in game?
