The little coloured box on the dealer's screen needs to be green for the trade to be accepted. |

I've had numerous attempts at this game over the years and have loads of savegames stashed somewhere.
Its a great concept and if you stick at it there is quite a bit of depth too. It has a sort of boardgame feel to it with a dash of RPG and strategy. I seem to remember being able to kill the CPU opponents if you predict their movements and occupy the same location as them on the same day. Also, if you kill opponenrs guards who are defending a location look in the buildings once they are dead for any stored food and equipment. Some strategies and tips: (I'll remember more if I have another go of the game. Play as two player hotseat until you have a feel for the game. Rope gets you into higher up caves. Make sure any of your guys who are guarding a location have a weapon and its active(red border) Always use your fighters to kill dogs etc unless they are in poor shape. Its not worth taking damage from toxic locations as it can be a real pain with mutants and dogs around when you need healing. Early stages - Exploring areas before the CPU characters is vital. Take over a location early with lots of water. Use the dogs wisely to increase your range. Store bottles etc in water locations for return journeys. Travel with 2 guys and do as many "sweeps" as possible, returning to dump loot in your 1st location or barter it along the way for traps and useful items. If you get 1 or two traps early on you can rest easy about recruiting a technician. Basically explore as far as you can early on to get the benefit from items lying around before concentrating on expansion. I'm glad you guys like this game, it brought me a lot of enjoyment though I've never completed it. I tend to play games just to see how they work but this game has such hidden depth that I'm often drawn back to it. |

You need to use DOSBox or VDMSound. You can find more info about these utilities in here :
