The U8.exe file is in the folder C:\Games\Ultima8

can you help me with my mount code? i typed in mount c c:\Games\ and it tells me Drive C already mounted with local directory c:\games\

I dont know if thats right or not, but what do i do from there?

ok scratch what i just said, i ended up getting it to work. Now i have 3 more questions. How do i make the window bigger, it is really small on my moniter. And also, how do i get the music playing? I installed the VDMSound thingy or whatever, but i dont hear any music. I can hear noises, such as foot steps and jumping and his grunts when he climbs a wall, but no music...and how do i speed up or slow down the game? it seems somewhat choppy. what do i need to do? plz help

to get in to full screen pres alt-enter
for music, run 'install exe', then "change music configuration"-> then choose "Adlib" or "general midi" (leave default port be) and exit setup with hitting "install"
and for speed up press ctrl-f12 (slow down ctrl-f11), but i d recommend you read dosbox faq, there are lots of other useful stuff

hey, ok. I tried Alt-tab but all that happens is it bring up the window to switch from one window to another. It doesn't maximize the game screen. And as for the music, i did what you told me, but i still dont hear music. I only hear the footsteps and such still. This is what my install.exe thing looks like.

Source Drive: C:\ULTIMA8
Destination Drive: C:\ULTIMA8
Sound Card: Sound Blaster PORT:0x0220 IRQ:7 DMA:1 (kept the defaults)
Music Card: Adlib PORT:0x0388 (i kept the defaults, whatever it was already set at)

by the way, thank you for helping

ok i ended up using sound blaster for both sound and music and it works ok. The only problem now is that the game runs a little choppy and the music sounds like is is choppy and skipping sometimes... anyway to fix that?

Change Core to Dynamic in DosBox.conf and check your CPU usage graph when increasing the cycles to get them as high as possible but below 100% CPU usage.

With Notepad. It's a simple text file.
