It's a joystick... right?
And I take it's an USB one...
Well, I don't know anything about DosBox supporting joysticks at all.

your joystick must work in Windows before it works in DOSBox.
by default DOSBox 0.65 allows 2 buttons
if you want more you need to edit dosbox.conf and look for the joysticktype option.

wee im just a dumbass.... (you dont want to know what i did wrong, ill tell you this, it had absololutely nothing to do wiht dosbox)

I works now. i even configured the sound.

My only problem now is, that i cant make it fullscreen. it does something completely weird when i run Tie Fighter now. It flashes to a white screen and slowly begins to turn black, from the lower rightedge of my screen.

Make sure you hit alt-enter before actually starting the game in DOSBox. If you don't sometimes it mess things up.

Or just change the DosBox.conf to start the emulator already in fullscreen.
