Balance issues? sure there are in HOMM1 but in HOMM 2 most of them were resovled. the onyl problem that remained are black dragons but add a titan with dragon slayer spell casted on them and they become equal opponent.

sure some creatures are strong but they have their disadvantage as well. like higher costs or certain spell inflict more damage to them (especially in HOMM2).

i have original homm and they are supplied with card that shows creatires their strenghts weaknesses. and i have to say that Homm1 really has some balance issues while homm2 has them resolved mostly.
for instance in homm2 Black dragons are best unit (e.g. you can't do any magic on them) however they cost a lot plus you can only buy a few each week.

in homm1 you can compensate by getting some knowledge to get more spells and they use them all.

Don't mean to clutter up the forum, but wanted to give a quick thanks to those who supplied help with the mount cd stuff. It is most appreciated.

Actually... Everything started with another game, King's Bounty.

You can get it on this site as well.

Sure, but Homm1 resembles the later series much more than Kings Bounty.

I have played all the games in the Heroes of Might and Magic serie, and i must say: "I love them all". Especially nr 2 and 3. I still think that nr 1 is a great game though, still lots of gameplay. k:

I can't say I'm surprised that 3DO didn't survive. Not after I played Might and Magic 8 and Might and Magic 9. They have bad graphics and a lousy plot. I liked nr 7 though.

If you have a Win 9x or ME, you could try to run it without DosBox.....

Maybe your problem is you don't have a very powerful PC who can support smoothly DosBox....

The one above mixed with having XP installed would probably forbid you to play the game :not_ok:

Actually I got XP and dosbox worked after cranking up the CPU cycles a bit.

And DOSBox just screwed me over in a game. I found the ultimate sword of dominion after alot of searching with one hero while the rest took on the enemy. and then *BOOP* it crashed! at least the auto save worked. now if you'll exuse me im about to start bashing some heads. :bleh:
