I found one compaq desktop 4xxx model with a pentium 233 pci and isa slots, 14 monitor, 4mbs graphics card (doesn't say which), mini case, 32mb ram, 1gb hdd, without keyboard for 14 GBP. Do you think it is worth it?

yeah thats a good deal if you want a dos p.c - if its on ebay though its going to cost a ton of money to ship

not ebay, just someone in the university I am. I am not looking for a low spec pc, but it just sounds like a good offer. Of course since I have dosbox don't really have any use for it, so I don't know. What could I possibly use it for? :crazy: I guess though cheap it is still waste of money in my case. :blink:

it was about the same spec as my dos pc.. which i have win95 installed on - so in a real emergency it could be a backup p.c for internet.

I *MAY* also be selling another P133 system with similar specs (but
with a 2 1gb hard disks, a floppy, cdrom, keyboard, complete case) at
the end of term or soon after. However I need to get hold of a
replacement for it first.

Flea Markets are a major gold mine down south. I scored a NES in mint condition with 45 games for 15 bucks. You can find ANYTHING there. They are all over North Carolina

I have it next to my desk, installed win98 on it and never used since then. But as you said, it's nice to have it for backup for net, and for some games, if I ever need it. Another same presario computer (both of them were bought by my father in law and his brother) is in basement waiting to be cleaned off and re-installed.

Edit I was wrong, those are P233with MMX.
