I finally got around to making those videos.

Here's a video from youtube that matches what I see when I play the DOS version:

And here's a quick video I made with the Mac version although I had trouble capturing audio so it has none:

Default Can't install

I can't seem to be able to install this. The instructions are a bit confusing.

I think it's pre-installed. Just use the .exe file to run the game.

I don't know how many other people out threre are aware of the fact that at one time there was a game in this series written for the Commodore 128 computer called "Beyond Zork" (I know because I owned a copy of it at one time)!

Yes you can! Just copy it to a CD, then go to the CD you copied it to and type
'"'install" and follow the screen prompts (you will need the CD to observe all of the visual effects of the game).

Default Instructions

So, I think I've got most of it:

I had troubles installing the game from the hard drive, so I used the burning program that came with my CD Burner, Nero, to burn a DATA CD of ALL the files in the zip file that I downloaded.

It allowed me to install Zork from the disc by clicking on install and following the instructions.

The problems I'm faced with are that the game moves incredibly quickly and I have no sound - looking back in this thread, I think they're related because the sound "synchs to the game" somehow. That being said, I've tried pretty much every combination I can think of and I can't get the sound to work.

Use DOSBox and you should have sound. Also, this is pre-installed and ready to run.

I can't use DOSBox.

It has not worked for me, no matter what I try.

How come you can't use DOSBox? A little elaboration will allow us to actually help you.
