So here is my problem.Yesterday I was in a friend's house.On his PC he didn't have AGP slot so we took another pc changed the HD and reinstalled Window$.But noe the system cannot find the ethernet controller or i'don't know the name(in french is"carte resau") So this card haven't a CD and we don't know what is her company.I already tried to find a standard driver from the WinCD but no results.PLz help :help:

Mhh, this is a problem. If you have a newer version of windows changes are that version will be able to detect the card. If it is a prefab PC you can also call the company that sold your friend the PC and ask which card is in there. As a last resort you can download some drivers of different manufacturers of the card type and try installing those. You might even try out some of the names on your friend as see if those ring any bells.

I usually write all I can about NIC and then google for driver.

You need one good PC with floppy/memory stick/CDR to transfer the driver to the PC.

I just have done reinstalling my windows, and I did search for all drivers and needed programs before I even started reinstallation. One of the things you learn with long history of reinstalls.

Yeah I make a CD with all the things I need for a reinstall like drivers for the motherboard, video drivers and all the little other things. It saves a lot of time.

try putting it in a different pci slot.

It wasn't my PC for mine I got all i need + I got a very big expirience with the reinstalling
