I agree with TheChosen on that... the first RA was the best... and I managed to just play that and swap to other Strategy games like C&C... My favourite clone is Dark Reign

but yeah red alert is great i've got it on the comp in my room
hehe troops are no match for tanya, red alert 2 was good aswell i don't know why but i like the over dramatic intro hehe

generals was fun to play because of things like the scud saying "Shall i press the button" in a way that reminds me of gollum from L.O.T.R

I have the "plain" edition but I have lost my key. Luckily the local GAME shop has plenty of copies left so I was thinking of getting one again. I never heard of a gold edition though, what is different with it?

It played in 640x480, giving the player a better view of the area.

Yeah... bought Dark Reign when it just came out... still play it now and then but you need a fix for XP tho if I don't recall wrong.

Dark Reign did have the similar gameplay as C&C but it was great the way the graphics was done. Dark Reign 2 wasn't as good.

Damn... now I got to pull the disc out and dust it off... want to play LOL

It works fine on XP for me without any fixes.

I have the whole C&C series except for Tiberian Sun and the Red Alert expansions. I even have two copies of C&C Gold because my dad accidentally ordered twice LOL

Hmm... now that I checked, I think my Red Alert CDs are broken. Both!

Tib. Sun is both underrated and overated. Some people love it, some people hate it, I merely find it disgustingly mediocre.

The latest additions are OK, but not great, sadly. Still, Zero Hour actually brought about a very good documentry/comedy, so it's not all bad/

RA 2 was like the worst game of the entire series IMO

I thought Tiberian Sun was quite bad, but when RA 2 came out, I lost all interest I had in the C&C series. RA 1 was and is still one of my favorite RTS's, it's a shame that they just seemed to release crappy games after that.
