Hi guys, my first post here. My mate gave me the link to this great website. i played XCOM for the first time years and years ago. The chance to play this great game again was too much to miss.

Im having troubles getting it to run properly tho, it seems to be running too fast! its like time was speeded up like 20times. The cursor moves fast, gameplay is unplayable because you can barely move the cursor and you're already at the boundary of the map, it moves soo fast!

I downloaded the windows version of this game, im running win xp.

Anyone give me any tips plz?
thx

use dosBOX which can be downloaded on abandonia

or you can use slowdown programs
freeware Mo’Slo
shareware cpu killer (which is a little better, but paid)

As Russ said, but if you want to use DOSBox you need the Dos version. It's also available on the game page as download.

Hi guys, i tried using moslow, but that gve me some error. CPUkiller didnt solve the insane scrolling speed either. Ive tried using DOSbox with the dos version of the game ... it runs the game, but i cant see anything, it opens in a window and the screen flashes bits of garbled display every second or so.

Any ideas?

Also if using windows version, if i clock on the "UFO DEFENSE.exe" my screen is all garbled, i can hear the music and just about make the menu colours out. If i use UFO.exe the game menus open fine, it just runs too fast.

Have you tried using the compatibility feature on XP and setting it to Windows 95? But you probably need to try and fiddle with your display properties in Dosbox to make it run smooth.
