Never play a pure mage class in an Elder Scrolls game, you can't finish it. You need at least one good weapon and armor skill to survive. You should try the Spellsword instead, has plenty destructive magic and is adept with a long sword

On the contrary. I find it incredibly easy playing as a strait up hack and slash warrior. The only hard part is finding my way around the dungeons.

He meant it's difficult playing a pure mage, not a pure warrior.
It's a piece of cake, anyway wait until you start coming across ancient lyches. One crazy thing about magic in this game is that it has no casting time requirement, if an enemy can cast several fireballs it will cast them in under a second. I HATE magic. I hate RPGs where you just need magic or else you're toast. I quit playing Baldur's Gate II once every enemy was casting invulnerability at the start of every combat... ¬¬ Too bad, I liked my character, a female two-axe welding berserker with Charisma 18 called Dee Dee. <3 The 3D dungeon maps in Daggerfall were a good idea conceptually, but a bad one in practice at that time, specially considering how garbled they look in 320x200. I quit playing Daggerfall without finishing it because beating those huge dungeons with those crazy maps was starting to feel like work, and because of the super-powerful magic-casting lyches and vampires I had started to come across. I guess in the long run you have to find some kind of magic or items or potions that give you resistance to spells.

Well, well
OK.
Many mates advise me to create Custom class character and I will follow this instruction. ..Still I will play little more as a pure Mage, because I found balance to kill the creatures. Yes, still Sceleton warrior killed me, but a good magic Shock and/or Snowflake will destroy it. .. In fact I use a very simple tactic yet: Magics and run away. Relax, pump my characteristics and again.. Still no meeting with magic caster enemies, but I am in the very beginning.. Well, rats, bats, thiefs and archers are no more problems for brave yog. ..I beg You, friends, for simple Clue book. Ty yoga - the brave Mage (I like the Mages, because in my last game Ravenloft 2: The Stone Profhet....the Mage was the only alive hero after the terrible attack of Ahnketpot in final battle).. |

There is a walkthrough here, if that is what you mean by a clue book,
Walkthrough Found Here However alot of the fun from these games comes from not knowing what is coming so don't read too much unless you have too. |

SOS SOS
Pls, help me!
Where is my fail: I am unable to take any object(s) from the floor or in corps of killed enemies. I tryed Grab mode and Steal mode pressing left or right button. Last moment: I am in a hall with 7 skulls-like candles and a table. When I press the table, some cabinets in the hall angle moved, opened weapons or like. I try to take these ones, crouching, jumping - in vain.. Rats!! Maybe You know howto.. Grateful yog Ah, forget to inform that I am custom made character. Yes, the Mage is very weak in the physical contact combat. But now my magic points are just 30, in Mage class were 130. If I have my team of 4 members - Mage/Fighter, Cleric/Paladin, Thief and Troll from Ravenloft 2... ha ha ha |
