I see Abandonia already was translated to pretty much all languages out there, but not portuguese. How about that? What exactly does it take (besides a translator) to have portuguese on site? Is it enough work for more than one guy?

I might be able to help heh

What it takes for the site to be translated is someone to start translating

If you have the will to do so, then Huzzah! arty:

Translating the reviews is a lt of work, so one thing which you might do first would be to try and find as many speakers of Portuguese - or Brazilian Portuguese if you want to be that particular - as possible by creating a sort of "We want YOU" thread. Obviously it's going to be easier if there's more than just the two of you. That's what the Dutch translators did, and they did an amazing job (if I remember correctly they managed to pull it off within a few months - very impressive). You should also try and come up with a plan for translations: make a list of who's going to do which translation, so you don't end up translating the same review twice. Once that's done, just start translating.

Sounds like a lot of work, translating all reviews. But the bad part is finding suitable people... I'll try to do that offline I think.

i thought about that about 8/9 months ago, when i joined as member, but then i reallized i couldn' t do it.... to do it proprely, it requires "daily updates". it is not the work for one member alone, it would require a team. and even right now, i don' t think there are enough "portuguese" members or guests that could justify a translation to portuguese.

I'm sure there're plenty of brazillian users, but go find someone who cares even a little bit about the scene. Heh, don't put your hopes up. :not_ok:

edit: daily updates wouldn't be a problem though, I update Abandoneer daily or nearly-daily already. Translating everything alone is still obviously impossible
