Well, I don't understand your problem, to be honest. If it was the easier way to steer the flippers in the game you were searching for, I've called it to you. If you think there's other purpose in the game than to be able to hit the ball with the flippers and thus direct it where you would like it to, I can't call you this other purpose. The original goal of the game is to archieve as much score as possible, while letting as little balls as possible drop between the flippers. The easiest way to archieve that is to steer with the both SHIFT keys instead of the cursor keys.

I got this game yesterday, placed on the score board, but am missing today. In the Pinball Illusions thread it says something about deleting a file in order to reset scores. Does that work for this game (& others in series)??
Thanks.

Sort of works.
-When I pick Steel Wheel or Nightmare, it goes straight back to the main menu. Ignition and Beat Box work though.
-I have to turn off the music to make the game run at normal speed.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Scratch that - when I select Steel Wheel or Nightmare, it quits completely, saying "Unable to load pinball dreams".
I can't be the only one who's seen this, so has anyone gotten it to work with certain dosbox commands?

Actually, mounting C: directly to the game's directory doesn't help either. Just returns me to the command prompt. INSTALL.SYS is present, but zero bytes. Looks like a bad download is all over the net or something.

Finally found a version that works and doesn't even include the X.exe or INSTALL.SYS problem. Just install and play. Not sure if I'm allowed to post links, but here's one that actually *does* work:
