the slight display quality loss would bother me. even though i probably wouldnt notice it. it would bug me!
U haven't noticed any difference in picture with or without KVM. And I use it for 3 computers at the moment.

At work I have old 8port KVM switch that will be replaced soon, and that one had some loos of quality, but the new ones are flawless. [/b][/quote]
well there has to be some degradation in quality, be virtue of the fact the signal is going through more components.
it wouldnt be noticeable, but it would bug my obsessive compulsive nature

I am going to sound like one of those Tv commericials at 4 in the morning but

Dos Box...it changed my life.

I don't have room for another computer or the funds right now, and I am glad something is out there to work with the old games.

Long live Abandonia and Dos Box k:

I've been thinking about making a dual boot system, however when I install DOS on a new computer will I face the problem of no drivers for the new hardware that I am using?

What kind of drivers would I need to install for old games to work? I can only think of Sound Card and CD-ROM drivers. Would I need video drivers too? :/

I don't think there are any drivers for DOS anymore. There might be some indie ones, but I doubt there are any commercial ones left...

To play DOS games, you best to use old hardware, as you'll end up with a lot of issues, speed of the game in many cases being the biggest one, and no sound as second one. (CD-rom driver is easy to figure out)

In the case of new harware, you best to go with DOSBox, but in the case your PC is not powerfull enough, then Win98 would be my choice, as its DOS Mode is great and compatible with all DOS games.

Sound card drivers, depending on your sound card. For instance, if you have a SB compatible card, you need only to write the "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T6*" line in your autoexec file.
*=i'm not sure about the exact number after T.This value represents the type of sound blaster card your card is emulating ie SB FM, SB, SB PRO(old or new, etc), SB 16.I think T6 stands for Sound Blaster Pro, New(ie including the yamaha opl3 chip).
Cd-rom drivers; i recommend the standard mscdex dos driver. The latest version, 2.5 i think, comes with Dos 7.10.You can get other drivers of course, but this is the most used one.
Mouse drivers; i recommend Cutemouse, which also comes with Dos 7.10, and is commonly believed superior to other dos mouse drivers.

Also contrary to common belief many old Dos drivers can (still) be found at driverguide.com.

I have a Sound Blaster PCI64. I think it has DOS drivers.

As far as I know, for ISA PnP Sound Blaster cards you need to run CTCM.EXE (part of the SB drivers) to initialize the card, or else it won't work.

For CDROM, MSCDEX is not enough. Prior to that you need a driver in CONFIG.SYS. The driver I recommend it VIDE-CDD.SYS (you can find it online). It's small (only 5K in memory) and works with almost any CD drive.
