Default linux and old windows games

ok so i have a 2006 macbook running ubuntu linux 10.04 (i got sick of mac os x...) and i got wine so i could play some old retro games.

wine works great for most games (simcity... cant remember anything else lol) but i was trying to play lego island (i have it on disk) and it refuses to run... is there anything else like wine i could use to try to play it?

For Ubuntu I would advise http://www.virtualbox.org/
As for guest OS W2Ksp4 or XPsp.x depending of the available free RAM.
W2K has a smaller footprint and will run almost everything that runs on XP. (Needs additions installed !!)

As for how to do it: more than enough documentation on the VirtualBox site and Ubu forums.
