Achievements are just things a game maker sets out to reward a player for doing, sometimes they are just stupid things like beating a chapter other times they take effort and skill. And in no way do they stop the gaming community making their own just like we always have. And I would like to see you pull of some of the achievements in games like Yakuza 3 and Dead Rising they are damn near impossible without a strong knowledge of the game and a willingness to put many many hours into one game. I still have no clue how that relates to FF1, a secret achievement for finding the secret dungeon wouldn't have made it any less secret.

Now everyone be quiet while me and TA argue some more about which one of us is the better gamer. Cause clearly I have beaten more games than him and better ones at that too.

Talking Game name?

I want to increase the number of my games but do not remember the following game:

It is very, very old game. About 130 levels.

The hero is running up-down, collecting gold. 4 opponents are after him. Running the hero stops and digs a trap. The opp(s) falls in trap and for a short moment is dead. But after a second it again resurrects and chase starts again. When hero reaches the stair he enters the new level.

Would be so kind help yoga's memory?

TY.

BTW, do not forget that yoga likes humor and jokes and my post is under Section Bla bla.

PS:
Dear Lulu_Jane,
do You know the game Hearts?
Yoga many times beats this game: yoga = 0 points, opps > 100 points.
Here Queen of Spades is 13 points and every Heart is 1 point.

I, for sure, don't. How could I?

I play computer games since 1987.
I often complain about the new games not being as good as (or in the style of) the old ones (call me sentimental), to the point of skipping even popular titles (I was always very picky), I don't jump on the "latest sensation" bandwagon.
Today I still actively play 20-year-old games.
I research 30-year-old games for MobyGames (any ZX81 or Sinclair QL users here?).

Can I possibly understand Eagle of Fire's moans about "good ol' times" and "lousy new games"?

Back in the days those achievements were created by the games community to show how hardcore you were versus that specific game.

Just try to get to the infinite dungeon in FFT without looking at Youtube or a walkthru. The guy(s) who found it probably played well over 500 hours into that game as well as restarting it several time before simply stumbling on it.

You could finish Alone in the dark 3?!? I got always stuck when I had to jump back on the roof in puma form

EDIT:
Just to tell a few of my achieved games:
Some games never had finish what I've played by design! In the dawn of computergames there were things like that.
The last 3 years only a few I've played, but big ones, like Diablo 2, Baldur's gate trilogy and so on.

To tell some of the bigger achievements though for the fun-factor, I'll mention:
- Wizards of Wor (the levels after a while started to recycled, but it was hard to reach there)
- the original Ms. Pac Man on Atari platform! The levels after a while got recycled, and the speed no longer incrised after a while, but I could simply not loose in it after many monthes of practice.
- Monkey Island's firt three part. Lost to someone the 4th, and the 5th were never released as far as I know.
- Planescape Torment, Fallout 1-2, Baldur's Gate series (you know the drill)
- Fallout Tactics with only a Supermutant in Tough Guy mode (what means no save allowed during missions, and that game is notoriously crashing).
- Super Solvers - Midnight Rescue to name something unusual from Abandonia (got 500K point)
- Heores of Might and Magic 3 without help of any walkthrough, or even removing fog of war during the play. It took in itself like 1.5 years.
- Resident Evil 2 with no save, and only basic weapon (Leon, A scenario). Also completed in that game the Hunk secnario for A rank, and the To-Fu scenario (E rank I think, but succeeding there is a wast achievement either way).

There is a "work in progress" game though after all the years: Baldies. I'm still stuck on the same level for years, but I'm not giving it up
