Ive been going through the step by step guide to downloading the dosbox but the only version it lets me download is the 0.72 and it says i need the 0.63 how do i get that one? I downloaded the 0.72 and when i click on the dosbox to type in my commands i'm in drive Z and need to be in C please help i dont get it i dont know how to mount C?????? thanks Lucy

1) Create a c:\oldgames in explorer whilst in windows.
2) run dosbox
3) input
MOUNT C C:\oldgames
c:

Tadaaaa you have a C in dosbox.

To be safe:
means HIT the enter key, don't input @ the prompt.

thanks for your reply this is gonna sound dump but how do u get to the explorer in windows i went on the link u sent me and it doesn't say i'm not very good on computers i blag my way through it all LOL

'My Computer' will also do to create a c:\oldgames.
Or 'My documents'.
Or 'Computer'.
Or 'Documents'.

ok done that bit now i can run the game so tells me 2 type in the name of the game start with cd then the name but it wont accept the name i type it says the name is to long the game is constructor so it says type in cd constr~1 but on the dosbox it wont let me do the line inbetween the r and 1?

Oh my, rename that folder (whilst in windows) to constr or such .....
Then you can simply
cd constr or so ..... in dosbox.
Maybe you could read the WHOLE readme?

Hmmm could we ease up on the shotguns, machineguns and bombs? Not everyone is familiar with DOS or computers. We're all at different levels there.

ok ive been tryin to get constructor to work allday ive got past some problems and been shot with a shot gun LOL but still cant do it ive read loads of faqs but still cant do it. ive downloaded constructor and unzipped the folder but cant find it on the dosbox when i type dir in it doesnt show up. ive got the cd too if that makes it better?

well, with cd it would be more difficult since we dont know what kind of files are there, but after we get past this and you understand some things you will probably be able to instal the cd version.


so, to steal from the dosrider's Extra short versionâ„¢ (ha-ha, sucker)

1) Create a c:\oldgames in explorer whilst in windows.
2) make a folder const in this directory
3) unzip the game downloaded from abandonia in to this folder
4) send me 39 us dollars
5) run dosbox
6) shot dosrider with a hunting rifle
7) input
MOUNT C C:\oldgames
c:
cd const (name of the directory that you created)
(now, if you wish, you could type dir and see the files in the directory)
game

dont forget to disable animations in options, cause its a rip. if you wanted help with your cd version, let us know
