Win 95 A has only FAT16 supported. Wouldn't advise partitions larger then 800 meg, simply because the cluster sizes will be outrageous.

Win 95 B, 98 and 98 SE all support FAT32. Pretty much any HDD should go well there.

The actual max sizes of HDD's installed depend more on the motherboard then anything else. I don't advise installing any single HDD bigger then 10 gig into an old machine anyway.

Hmm, any HDD you said? My win98 couldn't recognize a HDD of 80 GB. It could only read the first 40 GB and if it wrote further than that, the data went corrupt. So I had to install winXP, and that worked with no problems.

Win98SE can read hdds of sizes up to 130 gbs in size, but it has massive corruption problems.

Maybe just repartition the drive into smaller partitions. 20-40GB should be OK.

You would be surprised of the corruption problems even when you do this
