I'm looking for something like CleanSweep to wipe off all the junk like unused files off my hdd. But since CS is a Norton product, and I really don't want anything to do with that monstrosity, let alone pay for having Norton running riot on my pc, I wondered if any of you guys could reccommend any freeware hdd cleaner.

Like I said, I'm looking for something to tide up my hdd. For Ads, spyware and registry and that sorts, I already have software.

Thanks in advance

Try this one: Crap Cleaner

I don't know it myself but my coworker recommends it and he usually has good recommendations.

Maybe there's even an Norwegian version.

Yeah use crap cleaner. Just remember use the default items tickled unless you know what you are doing. You dont want to crash your computer do you?.

I recommend WinDirStat, it graphically shows how much space are certain files taking up on your HDD, and most of it is - crap...

Backup your important files, format your drive and do a clean reinstall of Windows. It's probably the only way to do it "safely"...

160 Gb means a LOT of burning... I think I'll go for the software.

You can't have 160 gig of "important" files... That's impossible. The whole point of this would be to remove the unnecessary files anyways...
