This has been a normal and grom what I have read constant problem with wingcommander with the loadfix -1 needing to be typed in.

Howeer I don't suffer from that problem, my game never gets past the loading portion :

C:\wcmd>wc
loading INSTALL.DAT
Loading WING COMMANDER. Please wait...
Expanded Memory Detected

and nothing.... it just stops there. I checked the WC forums, and two other people had this problem, only to have the answer not addressed, anyone have any ideas on whats going on, its been alog time since I worked with DOS.

do you use dosbox? if you do, look if there s some error message in "DOSBox Status Window"

yea, and no there aren't any errors present in dosbox that it lists (on either window)

Did you use DOSBox 0.65 and did you download the game from this website ?

Do you use a frontend ?
If so try without one.

I ran the game with 0.65 with the default settings and no frontend

Yes I got is from this website, and yes using .65.
As far as a front end goes, well... I'm too newb to know what youre talking about, I searched for info regarding it, but if you have a link as to what I can do about that, please let me know. Always better to learn then be walked through it if can be helped

I've been doing research and I've been looking for a solution to my problem, and still to no avail, is there any chance you may be able to explain about the frontend better ? I am basicly a complete newb to this. I can get other games to work, just not WC :? Heh even my dune and dune 2 work, sound or not.
