i just started with this stuff.. i know im a newbie!! i cannot figure out how to slow down the game.. ive tried pressing ctrl-f11 but its not working

Just in case... Are you actually running the game through DOSBox? Because Ctrl+F11 works with DOSBox, it's not something you simply can resort to whatever you're running.

If you're not using DosBox, you could use some programs like mo'slo or cpukiller... I don't know if there are freeware programs...

If you're not using DosBox but running a game or program in Windows 98 or XP, you can use this program to slow the CPU speed down (just click on SlowDown v1.0 (66 KB) - 17064 Downloads below): Slowdown
