Are there any action/adventure games on abandonia that allow the player to own or build a permenant base of operations?

Not that I know of.

Also, this thread has very little to do with Requests forum. I'll move it to Favorite Oldies/Newbies.

You mean like Heroes of might and magic? Or King's bounty?

Or maybe you mean you can buy yourself a house like in Oblivion?

Offcourse, this is RPG but you can take it as action/adventure game also.

Well you can do it in any "freelance" game today, if not the "right way" (e.g. buying it) then by modding the game (it's very easy to build yourself a house in Morrowind for example using TES construction set, I know people done it in Freelancer too)

I guess you talk about something like that 'cause I can't figure out any other reason to have "permenant base of operations" than as a place to keep your items and have a place for your character to rest (restore health)

EDIT: I just saw that you mention RPGs in title, so the answer is yes: as far as I know you can do it in Oblivion, Morrowind (extremely easy to mod and bunch of house mods to download), and Freelancer but it's not really an RPG and, as far as I know, you'll have to mod it yourself and it's (unfortantly) pretty hard if you never made a mod before.

None of those are on abandonia 'cause those are new games but those are truly great games and you won't be sorry if you get them (if you haven't allready)

Its not abandonware but check out Suikoden 1 and 2 for PSone if you're a console gamer.

Suikoden 2... best game ever... well one of the best.

Also in Morrowind I just killed some loner in a house and took over... easier then building your own house.

in Morrowind you also get Casius's house after he leaves and my friend told me that you can get a house by working for one of the Houses too.

But you can't deny that your own hand made customised house still rocks

Caius actually leaves?

I spent 35 hours on that game and only did one mission for him. I was really only playing it as an alternate life... doing whatever I pleased.

Oblivion lets you buy your own house. And it lets you do about 500 other things that you couldn't do in Morrowind, everything in it is better.

Also in Baldur's Gate 2 you can get a stronghold, different ones for different characters. Of course it's not abandonware.
