Hummm... I just noticed that I didn't pay attention to the existing personalities of the starting dwarves... And there is some female dwarves in the lot.

Unless some players don't mind being a she instead of an he, we would need two lists: one for male characters and another one for female...

I'd prefer a male character as i will be a commander

Now, i have never gotten a fortress to last more then a year, but can you eventually name kings or leaders of your colony?

Cause if so we should see how lon ga leader could last

Also give us some info on the area, in my current game im in a little valley sort of deal....i don't remember though....how do we see the world map while playing? I wanna see if there is any settlements near my valley.

Also no one answered, are there little human places dotted around a human-populated town? I didn't bother checking if my current settlement was by a town or not, so......yea. Oh well. Im just using my game to expiriment and brush up So far im just bringing in lots of wood and what not and have a big ole farm plot being planted. What to do next, i know not....prolly make some workshops.

The kings are?

Oh how i wish to pillage humans....thers a near by colony called Zim that sent me a caravan, but i STILL don't understand how the trade system works >< But Zim makes me think of Invader Zim, makes me think these humans are invaders, so i must prepare for war! and i just got a tonne of new migrants (8 or so) so ill be able to sustain a larger work force! Muahaha!

I hope im ok for food though, winter has just fallen upon us, so i don't know how ill do. Gosh a year already, and im actually doing decent for my brusher upper. No enemies either (though my area is 'untamed' )

I should have a look around for goblins and elephants though......Oh well, that'll come later.

I have some news about the fortress!

Everything is going very well... I wonder why I was so exited about this location in the first place. It seemed to be wild from the description on the location finder... But all I can see around are harmless wild animals.

So... I started by recruiting my team, starting with me as team leader. After training everybody in their own fields and carefully packing up our goods, we set forth for adventure, adamantine and riches.

History shall remember the name of the 7 bold adventurers who stepped up and volunteered to the task of founding a new colony: Angry Axe, Eagle of Fire, El_Quia, Fubb, Panthro, Supa_Mario and TheChosen.

Teaser:

Quote:
Our wagon having unfortunately broken down mere miles before we arrived at the predefined point, I had to make a hard decision between founding the new colony at this exact spot or to have myself and the rest of the expedition walk up to the mountain side and risk having our food and supplies stolen or eaten up by wild animals. Knowing that our food would likely spoil anyways in the time it would take us to strike the mountainside and come back here, I thus reluctantly decided to stop in the middle of nowhere valley and ordered our miners to strike the earth at the very spot that we were standing on.

My first order of business in this undesired situation was to secure the location of our new home. Founding a new colony by digging down instead of straight forward is one thing, but everybody agreed that leaving the only access to our new home without a minimum of defense and cover would be pure madness. After taking advice from our Carpenter Capro and our Mason Angry Axe, I took the decision to erect temporary wooden walls around our only access point until we have the time and the ressources needed to build something better. Grabbing an axe and asking for our resident Farmer Supa_Mario to do the same, I left basic orders for our miners and left Capro in charge of the construction of our defense while I was busy hacking down trees into logs which would be needed for the construction. Having no other work to give to Angry Axe, he volunteered to help Capro with the walls as much as he could with his feeble skill in wood construction. Fortunately for him, Capro proved to be a good instructor for it took only a few moments, while I wasn't even looking, to erect the skeleton of the structure.

A few days of honest labor later, our worries were mostly gone.

"She likes high boots"
"She likes a good thrill"
"She is occasionally given to procrastination"
"She needs alcohol to get through the working day"

You know, it's almost a perfect match. :P

Except maybe that she's a she.

But you are right. I didn't pick up the dwarves by their personalities when I named them, and mine is a perfect match too.

About the sex of the dwarfs, remember that a lot of dwarf women are mistaken for dwarf men (at least in some stories). So it might not be a big thing. Maybe you who have female characters could wear a fake beard and all that.

Cant wait to take a bit out of that meat. Or wear Sasquatch fur cloak.

Il fix up the front post and maybe add some RP later. And dont worry Tomekk, you'l get your spot when the first immigrants arrive.

Sorry Tomekk. I tried to combine what everyone had said so far to my normal starting routine, but there was simply no place for a swordman.

Like TC said, you'll be included as soon as we have migrants.

BTW: what do you guys think of the name of the fortress?
