I had this wierd Idea for a game:
the turnholder finds an obscure 'word of the day' (such as "numinous" or "condign"), and the other people have to make sentances with it (ones that make at least some amount of sence and are preferably funny), then (this is a weak point, so I'm open to sugestions for improvement) whoever has the best sentance according to the trunholder gets to have the turn next (with a new word).

tell me what you think. or just take the turn.

To make it even harder, make a sentance with pulchritude and Celerity. You have to know what both mean first, now don't you

Well, yes, obviously, but a sentence isn't hard:

Word of the maiden's pulchritude spread quickly, but Sir Gallahad's steed posessed a natural celerity which enabled him to be the first to reach her.

There's a good word of the month feature on Dictionary.com.

I'd like to nominate "tmesis" mainly because it starts with "tm", and I think that's fan-bloomin'-tastic.

The pulchritude of small birds is only equaled by their celerity.

I just noticed BeefontheBone's post! Sorry!

In the tmesis class there were several people who fell asleep... (would work - right?)

Now try one with AKIMBO.

True, but a funny sentence may have nothing whatsoever to do with the true meaning of the word. Ex: We took Jimbo to the vet when he started to gain weight at an alarming rate, and as it turned out, our Jimbo was actually akimbo.

Well, sort of, but that's true of lots of things.

gabbro's not very interesting, is it? unless you've got an igneous rock fetish...
