I... really didn't get how to do it either, really. Or how DOSBox works, for that matter (even after reading millions and millions of faqs and guides about it). If someone could make a mini-tutorial about running this game specifically (I've found many general guides, but none'd work) using either a frontend or dosbox itself, I'd really, REALLY appreciate it.
EDIT: Well, I got past the CD screen an' all, and am able to get to the menu. Deal is, after I select the option to start the game, the screen goes black and it seems to crash. Any ideas? Last edited by razgrizglenn; 27-12-2009 at 05:56 AM. |

I'm out of ideas for DOSBox. Maybe give VDMSound a try? (remember to activate MSCDEX emulation if you do)

I'm in the same situation as razgrizglenn, I tried to run it with DOSBox, using commands "mount d d:\ -t cdrom" and the title screen is the last working part of the game. I'm using DOSBox 0.72 and that might be the problem. With which version of emulator game works for you guys?

OK, I found a dosbox-friendly file.
This is a cracked version that runs without the CD, but you'll only get music if the CD image is properly loaded in dosbox. http://rapidshare.com/files/368815562/night_dosbox.zip |

Try asking at the vogons forum (don't worry, they won't read you any poetry) whether 7.3 might solve your problem, or hang around and wait for

Hmm, right now I'm kinda burnt out on writing about the game. If you want you can ask Discoalucard from Hardcore Gaming 101 if it's OK to take my article from there and shorten it a bit to put on here. Or I can write something later this year. Or if someone else would like to write one...

Allright, feel free to shorten it as you see fit (the site probably won't need the character introductions).
If you care for my score, it would be a 5. Is it "allowed" to mention the ISO cellar on the main page? Then there could be info added that the two versions can be used together (rip version with original image for music & better DOSBox compatibility) |
