Post Expack2's Offers

I currently have three games which, based on Abandoina's oldwarez list and the forum's Requested Games thread, qualify as abandonware:

SimIsle (ISO, 265MB; Contains Macintosh, Windows, and MS-DOS versions)
The Island of Dr. Brain (ISO, 21.6MB; Features full voice-overs for Dr. Brain)
SimTower (ISO, 164MB)

I would offer my ISO for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain, but according to this, the game is not abandonware until next year due to ESA protection.

Ah, I didn't know that about the oldwarez list, Paco. Also, thanks for making clear the status of The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Here's the stats on my image:

The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain (MDX, 600MB)

ISOs go to the ISO Cellar. This is done by uploading the cd image to a file-sharing site and posting the link in the Requests thread. Then a new thread for it will be created under the respective letter.

Default Review w/ 11 Screenshots for Lost Mind of Dr. Brain

Despite the inability to edit the title of your own threads, I'm going to keep my new offers under the same thread.

With the above in mind, I'd like to offer a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain that I wrote. It includes the main part of the review in addition to some game notes and operating system compatibility. Also, I did take 11 screenshots from within the game that I'm offering with the review. However, I don't know if I can even offer a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain since it is only available in the ISO Cellar...

We aren't able to host 600 MB, too large of a file. We limit ourselves to 150 MB to reduce bandiwdth costs. And with this in mind, reviewing the game might be pointless, since it will not be added with such a big archive.

You can ask us to change the Thread-Title.

Review and Screenshots are only of use if we have a Archive (no ISO) about 150 MB to be put on Site.. The Game in ISO CELLAR is too big.

You have to remove stuff from ISO to make it smaller.

Edit: duh TA was faster. -.-

I've managed to remove all the unnecessary data from the ISO image for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain and compressed the resulting ISO image using 7-Zip. The final, compressed filesize is 80.5MB. Would that be sufficient for it to be accepted?

EDIT: I forgot to state that I tested the modified ISO and it does work.

80 MB is below the Limit so that would be ok, but its must be in zip-Format or AB wouldnt accept it.

Can you also make a pre-installed Archive instead of a ISO?

removed ISO from Thread-Title. hope its better now?

Unfortunately, The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain reads directly from the CD-ROM, so users will still need to install the game so that they can save their games. Fortunately, I found that by simply copying the contents of The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain CD-ROM to a folder, it can be run without the CD! When compressed using the conventional ZIP file format, said folder's size is 110MB - and that's with all the video and audio intact! As I also intend to upload a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain (complete with in-game screenshots per Abandonia regulations), I'll be sure to include the installation and play instructions in the review.

EDIT: Thanks for fixing the thread title for this thread, Paco! Now I can offer more than just ISOs!
