Yeah, diet's a huge factor. Has to be said, though, he replaced smoking with more alcohol. Which isn't the best idea. Though I shouldn't make light of his achievement in giving up - I've tried, and failed to give up, so he has more willpower than I do.

I still maintain though that for me, a good cup of coffee in the morning is an inexpensive luxury. I'm not saying that drinking coffee/smoking/taking drugs makes anyone more interesting, or that it'll change your life. But I enjoy coffee a lot, and considering my other vices (drinking/gambling/smoking/paintball) it's probably not that bad for me.

.As for hot chocolate... are you sure it contains coffeine?!
Yup. Check it out. It's a lot less then in coffee though! For a cup of chocolate milk it's about 5 mg, for a cup of coffee it's 115mg. (this I found on a Dutch site)

I don't think I'm bored because I don't drink coffee. Neither I am because I don't smoke it drink or use drugs. They wouldn't make my life more interesting, after all. Only make it to a nightmare with time, in case of alc and drugs, and stop me enjoying the live as I do without it, in case of coffee.
Did not want to imply you were, Freddy! If you're happy you should live life your way
k:k:k:

It's just, that, even though I drink coffee, I get drunk once in a while, and smoke an occasional cigar or even a pipe, I exercise daily, eat fresh veggies and fruit, go easy on the meat and fatty food, I think I live a decent life. I'll probably die of cancer in the end, but with my famylies history of heart-attacks at 55, I might never live to see the day...

Unless you flag Coffee Crisps as coffee source then I can easily say that I never take any form of coffee. And even for Coffee Crisps (that's a chocolate bar for those who don't know) I can't say that I take them occasionaly... What about once per month max in a year? Probably less...

Come on, live a little! k:
Going straight edge all the way is a total bore!!! :not_ok:
That is called living a "Tom" in Norway. (At least all the places I have lived).

I don't drink alcohol (and I have never ever been drunk).
I don't drink coffe (because it smells bad and taste bad, and is bad).
I never go out on the town (because I hate loud noises, drunk people and mainstream music).
I don't look at naked girls, and walk out of the room if someone starts stripping (as I am not dating the person, their nudity is none of my buisness - read cheating).
I don't watch porn (see above)
I have never stolen anything in my life. (That is correct, never).
I never burst out in anger (as I really don't see the point).
I've never used a fake ID (as it is illegal).
I've never used drugs (see above).
I don't smoke (but I did smoke daily from the age of four to the age of five)*.
I don't lie (good guess, but no I don't).
I never cheat (as it spoils all the fun).
I never have one-nights stands (as I think of them as "cheating", even if I am not dating).

*Me and my brother stole the cigs from our baby-sitter.

So... the official term is Living a "Tom".
Alex (the boyfriend of Indie) calls the above "Tom's inner nun talking". He want me to rebel against my inner nun :bleh:

I am a dedicated coffee junkie, and consume several pots of it every day. The main reasons for this are the taste and the warm feeling it gives.

Here I'd like to point out that last year I spent about half a year without it, and thus proved that it is not a problem for me. Also, coffee never keeps me awake. I can drink a couple of mugfuls before going to bed and still sleep without problems. Don't give a toss about the proven healthiness of it.

A fact: in Finland the consumption of coffee per capita is the highest in the world. In 2003 each Finn consumed 11,4kg of coffee, while the EU average was 5,43kg and the world average was 4,66kg. The second was Belgium/Luxemburg, in which the consumption was 9,61kg per capita. Following these were Norway (8,99kg), Denmark (8,15kg), and Sweden (7,96kg).

I strongly believe Finland has reached such a high position as the result of my personal actions.

My next evolutionary step is to become a filter-feeder - cut out the middle man.

I don't like the idea of something having power over my life, and I know too many people that are totally addicted to coffee and caffeine (my last girlfriends mom had to have at least five shots of espresso a day or she got really sick feeling and had headaches.) So no drugs, no alcohol, no coffee. Besides, it's not very healthy for you, and I like being healthy.
