The Pirate Bay: Sellouts
As you may have heard, TPB has sold to "Global Gaming Factory X" for approximately $7.7mil USD.
They claim to have an idea in mind, involving turning pirate bay into a legit file sharing site. Will this work? No. All I'm seeing is another Napster scenario. This article will explain it in more detail. Let the decentralization commence! Oh, and what do you guys think about it all? |

Was Pirate Bay such a special source really? I always thought it had a lack of seeds compared to other torrents search engines.

I'd give them a bit more credit than the Napster guys. Wait and see I guess.

it's not about being the tracker with most nazi seeding rules and the highest speed. it's about the amount of community. tpb was (is?) a pillar for the file sharing community, it is the most widely known tracker and if tpb wanted us to know something the news distributed along the world with a speed of light. they were the guys who stood up for our rights and always spit into MAFIAA's face. the guys helping to organize and morally support the battle against corporate fat entertaining industry lobbists they were the daddy of the fight for the file sharing rights

So it was the HOTU of torrent sites? Not the best speeds but a good community and a pioneer?

I use to download from TPB, but now i don't the Government has hacked TPB and put some sort of anti-P2P spyware on there, just to fine people! I usually downloaded some really old games not on store shelfs or the nets!
