Definitely not abandonware. In some ways, it's preferrable to the glitzier AofW 2. For one thing, the AI is almost decent.

It's still pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as the sequel. It's only worth it in multiplayer.

What are you talking about? AoW2 and Shadow Magic are the best thing that's happened to the genre since HOMM 3.
