Afrika is a game coming to the PS3 sometime soon.
It looks absolutely beautiful, and the trailer brought back some immensely good memories. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnifTPIALAM I don't care about the console, I will buy a PS3 for this alone, utterly beautiful, I can just imagine exploring the beautiful African savanna, just like we used to during the school vacation in South Africa, nothing beats those hour long trips into the beautiful outland.

Every time I see a trailer like that I get the feeling that I might have seen all that's to the game/movie. That wouldn't make the trailer any less good though. But what is the game about, is it like Wolf?

Lacks a lot of mud, dust, blood, s*hit and gore. Never saw such clean unrealistic stuff on discovery. The hyenas? When those have a meal they are covered with blood and guts. This is the Disney version of wilderness, for babies. Sorry to spoil the fun peeps. I agree that it looks graphically very neat, but please don't call it realistic.

I disagree, it's realistic, that's exactly what the African Savanna looks like, and no, when hyenas feast it's not totally bloody, Animal Planet and Discovery always exaggerate things.
Look at Meerkat Manor for proof. Everything about that show is edited to build a story, in reality, what's going on isn't probably half as exciting, and those meerkats really aren't thinking what the narrator says, they're probably just being what meerkats are, quirky hyperactive creatures with simple tendencies and habits, with a very basic social system and caste. And the game is apparently a photography title, which is to my liking, it's strange that we have all these advances in graphical technology but we never use it to create believable worlds that we can actually explore and enjoy beyond blowing things up.

http://www.pbs.org/edens/ngorongoro/longest_day.html Pics on the right, scroll down a bit. As most predators hyenas begin with the 'softer' parts. The abdomen, intestines, bowels, lungs ...... it ain't nice to see, but that's nature. They simply need those to get the nutritive elements they can't digest themselves.
