I've heard most of the bands that you mentioned and they're alright but they're not my style. And about your comment that metal is for the masses, I disagree entirely. Just because a good amount of people at this forum listen to metal doesn't mean that a majority listen in the real world. I've never met in my entire life anyone who listens to metal. Ever.

Nobody said metal was "for the masses," you're putting words in his mouth there - what he did say, and rightly, was that the forum music topics have a tendency to get taken over with discussion of metal for some reason.

I just remembered Irrelevant, great Aussie hardcore band. You can find a few songs under media for download.
The site hasn't been updated for a while I think because their Ascension album came out early 2005, and the site says it's still unreleased. |

Anyone else checked out the self titled Broken Social Scene album? Pretty damned good, stuff like "Hotels", "Windsurfing Nation", "HandDjobs for the Holidays", "Superconnected" and "Tremola Debut" really show the band having fun with what they do.
