When I tried putting my Memory stick into my new computer today to find that it didn't connect. It makes the duh-ding and deh-dum noises when you connect and disconnect it. Other than that I get no other signs. (taskbar messages and such)
I tried certain things such as:
Computer: Windows XP 70GB Hard drive Pentium 4 3GHz 480MB RAM USB Memory Stick Transcend™ Jet Flash 128MB Supports both USB 2.0 and the other one If you need any other details, contact me via this thread. |

Does windows tell you it's an unknown device, or not? If it does, it's a driver issue. If not, you might want to open the Disk Manager. We've had this problem at work where several drive-letters are mapped. The thumb-drive tried to take the same drive-letter (in this case G and couldn't because it was allready taken. If your drive appears in the Disk Manager simply give it another letter.

It doesn't tell me about unknown devices. Just the noises. Disk Manager? Who? Where?

Right click on the My COmputer icon and select Manage... Under Storage, you can see Disk Managment. It gives an overview of all storage devices on your system.

Thank you! It had the same drive letter as a networked one.
