Guys, this is NOT the same game as international karate on c64 or?

it looks like Exploding Fist + just with 1 less player (seems so from some of the backgrounds atleast).

(exploding fist + was lik IK+ just with some (infact better) nice touches which IK+ didnt have.

if i remeber correctly it was like this:

The way of the exploding fist (very few backgrounds) (no bonus stages)
International Karate (quite a few backgrounds) (no bonus stage?)
FIST 2 (scroller)
International Karate 2 (alot of backgrounds but some where used in older games) (bonus stage (brick bashing)
IK+ (first game to have 3 players + the hold the sheild + block bombs)
Exploding Fist + (the ninja shuriken bonus stage (even better than the ones in shinobi)

anywya might be wrong so feel free to correct me...its 15 years since i was glued attach to the screen with the c64..

the Amiga version sure was superior to the pc version and so was the c64 aswell..and even atari XL and Atari ST and all others...remeber PC is and was utter crap until windows95-> where it all of a sudden became the number one due to Amiga (commodore) went bankrupt.

ps:the pc version looks like crap but then again it was never about gfx in theese games , it was about playbility!.

ppps: IK+ was released for Playstation in 2002/3 , you might wanna have a go at that though its identical to the CD32 version (Amiga 500 basically but on cd)

IK+ was great, but I just don't think i'd be able to get into it with only two characters and no mad ball-blocking sublevels

And for the end, the biggest drawback, like I already mentioned, are controls. Fire is left shift and joystick moves are done with various buttons on the right side of keyboard (J - left, K - right, U - up-left, I - up, O - up-right and N - down-left, M - down, "," - down-right). It is really unclear why you couldn't just use two cursos keys for narrow joystick move. If you press fire, your fighter won't hit. Hit or kick is combination of fire + direction or only direction.
The reason why you couldn't use two cursor keys back in the old days on old PC's was because they could not handle two cursor keys at a time. This was a separate case from using SHIFT with any keys at the same time as that simply shifts every character into upper case. Hence, the game just responded to uppercase letters

Sorry, I love the C64 version but I hate games with only CGA-graphics like this PC-conversion. Unfortunately no DOS-version with EGA- or VGA-graphics exist. Therefore I´ll try the remake for Windows.
