Hi, I've already been through all the previous posts about this,
but they couldn't quite help me out.
I run a pentium III(1GHz, 384MB RAM)
I tried playing albion in DosBox but DosBox seemed struggling
for making the run fluenty.
So I tried VDMS. This worked fine and all but it crashes sometimes
no matter whether I played ten minutes or an hour. :not_ok:

Do I do something wrong? Is it simply the DosBox cycles I have
to increase? I tried up to 13000.
I emulate full RAM and stuff... Weird.

Your computer isnt fast enough to run DosBox at high cycles.
As for the crashes in VDMSound, what other programs are you running in the background?

Hmm.... You mean running Anti-Virus and stuff in the backgrund. Is too much?
Well There are Deamon Tools, AntiVir, AntiSpy and FW.
I guess that's a bit much....
I'll try it after shutting them down since I have no permanent
Internet connection.

I've also noticed some erratic behavior in 3D games when using DOSBox on high cycles, sometimes reducing cycles is good. F.x. 1942 Pacific Air War by Microprose is almost unplayable when you go much higher than 7500 cycles.

I've never tried VDMSound, maybe I will soon.

@Gorkur: That's because you tried to set the cycles over what your PC can handle.

Every computer is different, so whatever he answers to you will have no meaning whatsoever.

He must try to get the best setting by trial and error.

I tried to run it under XP the way nikson once posted
The one with changing the stuff in the properties of the excuteble exe bat or so.
This works absolutely fine without any probs. :w00t:
So the solution wasn't even DosBox or VDMS at all!!!

Thanks anyways guys!

When my phone company decides to put a dsl connection in my street (which is quite crappy for living in Germany :ranting: ) I'll get a member of Abandonia. I'm here for half a year or so and this was my first post in this forum.... Horray ISDN....

So, see you at the show!
