If we have a big forum, what would a forum that says 'We have 139253 registered users' be? we've a bit to go before we beat HOTU guys ^^ But then again, our forum kicks their doggy behind ^^

Well I've been to forums with over half a million registred members... There's no personal feel to it.
I mean, just imagine if all our members would get active. You couldn't keep heads or tails of what's happening in the forum. Around 30 active members is more then enough (count how many post here regularly)... |

@ peregy:
me too. as often in life, it's not the quantity which counts, but quality! i do prefer some kind of personal relation towards other users than mere mass. if you take a look at the HoTU forum, it's not a diversified as ours, imo. and even if, we don't have to compete with HotU's forum, anyway. Abandonia is Abandonia and HoTU is HoTU... i see no real need in comparing these. each of these is individual in it's own sense. |

With a lot of those 'massive' forums, there are a lot of people who don't really post. A majority of the time, if a lot of those members are even signing on, they're lurking.
exception: Something Awful. That place is absolutely crazy. |

See that's what I mean. Too many people - they don't (can't even) know eachother - and it all gets impersonal. There are no real discussion (and probably no SPAM either), but then again, that's just one of the things that keep a forum alive (a little bit of spam now and again will spice things up nicely)..
