I encountered these 3 problems:

1. I can't use nvidia driver or anything to make OpenGL work. I have to use vesa instead to see something. When I try to use nvidia or anything I get black screen. I have GeForce 7600 GS.
2. I can't configure network. The only interface I have is lo (loopback) and reconfiguring it won't help. I think Linux doesn't see my network card. I have internal network card Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 BaseT Adapter.
3. It doesn't play MP3 and OGG. Says something about couldn't open stream. I think it looks like drivers don't set properly. I have internal sound card Realtek High Definition Audio.

I already been told, that my version of Ubuntu is old, but anyway - can anyone help me?

Thanks.

I'm using 6.10, maybe the new version is more compatible, why don't you try it?
I don't remember well but you should search something about changing DNS...sorry, I'm new on Linux and I'm learning like you .

You should try vlc media player, maybe it's not beautiful like Winamp but it's the only one who can read different audio and video files.

Hope to be heplful.
