Just a question I have regarding the multiplayer abilities of the Xbox (note: NOT the Xbox360). Those games that support Multiplaying do they also support slipt screen mutliplaying or does that only work via the internet (i.e. Live)? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the game.
Some games only have Online support, while others have splitscreen, the majority of games that are Online compatible also support split-screen, but you can just look on the back of the case, it will include the number of players that can join in on the game, there's a whole different thing for Online stuff.

And I'm assuming you don't have to pay for live if you're gonna do splitscreen?

If you do consider getting an X-Box (I don't know if you have on yet) then I would suggest Live if you enjoy playing online games (if you don't there isn't much of a reason) it's rather cheap and reliable.

I have a modded Xbox, so I can't play on Xbox Live. However, there's a program out there called "XBConnect" that's free, and all you have to do is have an Ethernet cable (I suggest getting a Crossover Ethernet cable), and a reasonably fast internet connection.
The great thing about XBConnect is, that you can have four players on one Xbox playing split screen, while all four of the players are online playing with other people from around the world. It's great. |
