Fox News

This is not the only (p)review of the Xbox 360 that claims it is better to wait then purchase straight away. Basically the reasoning is that the hidden cost drive up prices to unreasonable levels.
I was not going to buy this anyway but for those interrested it is something to think about.

Just look around.

I agree totally with that article!

As I said in another topic: don't buy the Xbox and save your money (and your spare time) for something better

To be fair it does not say to never buy one, it says to wait until prices drop.

Hardly a reputable source for games information though...

Why wait?

A few ?'s cheaper?

I'd much rather pay a little more and be able to talk about my cool xmas present than say ... nah I didn't get one because I think its slightly overpriced.

I doubt I'll get one for Xmas even if I try... they have a very small amount of stock to ship out to stores.

They tend to come down by incredible amonuts. Remeber the orginal Xbox? It lauched at ?400-500 and within a couple of months had falllen to ?200. For that kind of saving I'm willing to wait a while. Oh, and I don't intend to buy any of the next-gen consoles, but given a choice of the big three, I'd go for the Revolution, and then the PS3.

I'm buying one.
I agree with the article, but that's because ALL consoles are overpriced at first (unless it's Nintendo, I love Nintendo, they make things so cheap).
But it's better to have one now I think.
Although I do see the reasoning behind waiting until prices drop.

This why I like nintendo. Sure, they may be underpowered, cater to the whole family, but they're never forcing me to buy a new TV.

Exactly right it's not always best to buy a console right away, sometimes best to wait a year and by then already you got excellent games to choose from and the price for the system has gone down, course with nintendo that's always the exception why I will always support them, plus not paying 500 bucks for the X-Box 360 will cost me if I were to buy it now.
